Dear Elizabeth,

Being in a new country and away from every one I knew, these were welcome words that went far beyond sitting and sharing a cup of coffee. Well, two cups of coffee, we each had our own. it was an extended welcome and an "I would like to know you." So welcome, I would like to know you and I feel knowing Elizabeth would be a good start.

Elizabeth who we meet in the new Testament in the gospel according to Luke was barren, which in her case was a physical and literal state of being unable to conceive. She was well in age and had possibly given up on any aspiration to bring forth life. Like Elizabeth, we are often barren in many seasons of our lives;lacking an ability to birth healthy relationships (not just boys, often boys but more than just boys), a purposeful career, a fit body, a wholesome spiritual growth, a sense of peace, a radiance of joy, a clear conscience and so on. Most of these times, having given up on there ever being life in those areas.

I use the word birth because these are all things that are within us and we have the capacity to bring them to being. We have treasures in jars of clay. We are those jars of clay, made of dust molded by a good God who deposited treasure in each and every one of us. With this in mind, as we journey through I am believing for each one of us the words of Angel Gabriel to Zechariah as he announced the birth of his and Elizabeth's son to him in the temple:(changed he to it)

" You will give birth... it will be your pride and joy, and many people will be glad that it was born. "

The season has come for us to bring to life that which is within us;to display our treasure. We all know however that after the revelation, the baby takes about 9 months to be delivered. ..and that's for an actual baby. The revelation of your baby has just been made. However, what you are carrying could take years, months..or maybe days..some of it may be minutes away. Regardless of the time frame, we wait in great anticipation aware that HE who begun a good work in us is faithful and will bring it to completion.

So Elizabeth, I will be here to share my journey as I encourage you with lessons I continue to learn; almost like a diary on display. So like Ashley took me out to coffee to learn about me, I took you to see how alike we all are to Elizabeth and how we could all do with a visit from Mary. I echo the words that Elizabeth spoke to Mary when they met:

"as soon as the sound of your greeting reached to me, the baby in my womb leaped for joy"

Each time you read these words and the sound reaches your ears or reverberates in your heart , may the 'baby in your womb' leap for joy.

PS. This is not a blog, it's my letter to you.

With love,Mary:)
